After studying economics at the University of Turin, Italy, and gaining experience in the field of labor economics within public and international institutions, Alberto Segre gradually turned his attention to cinema. Trained in Paris in screenwriting, cinematography, and directing, he has since 2008 directed nine short and medium-length films—ranging from fiction to documentary and animation—which have been selected and awarded prizes at numerous international festivals.
His films explore the links between history, memory, and identity through characters who move between territories and cultures. He examines encounters, disappearances, and forms of social invisibility, often combining archives, sound, and off-screen elements to connect different times
and spaces.
